Do you have any tips on removing and re-installing cylinder studs? I've got a new engine case, but a couple of studs are bent, and some have rust.
I'm afraid of destroying the threads, or breaking anything.
Is it thread locking applicable? What are the torque specs?

Any tool supply will have a "stud remover". $15 US. It goes on your ratchet wrench, grabs the stud securley and turns out. Yes you may pull out the original threads. Soak the area first with a penetrating oil like WD-40. Let sit at least 30 minutes. In the plumbing world there is a tough penetrator they use to break old galvanized plumbing joints.
Consider replacing with heavy duty studs. Not recommended to use stock studs with a big motor. You can't get enough torque on them before they stretch. No need to lock in new ones IMO, don't know if there is a torque spec.
