hello everyone i'm a newbie so have a virtual drink on me.
i've just fitted a 895 big bore to my 750f2 lump and was wondering if any of you blokes could give me a ball park figure on main jet size? i'm running standard f2 carbs with a standard air box.
i know the carbs should be replaced with a bigger set but there is no budjet left for this!
i would consider running single filters or bellmouths if it would help but i would rather run with the air box with a k&n filter inside.
i have an alfa 4into1 to fit on the bike so bear this in mind with jetting recomendations.
thanks for any help.

Jamie,
Not sure about what you will need. I'd probably start with 125 or 130 with the stock airbox and go from there. Another resource for you is SOHC4.net if you are not already a member. There are a number of guys with 900 kits. I have a NOS 900 kit waiting for my next tear down. I'll be interested in your final jetting. A dyno would be your best bet but I realize they may not be readily available and it may be slightly expensive. |

Anything between 120 and 130 could be a good start. It depends on your particular engine and setup what you really will need - some need richer, some even leaner mixture after installing a big bore kit. There are lots of theories which prove the one or the other, but experience tells: It depends
I would start with 120 or 125 with the stock airbox. |

Thanks for the advice.
i just wanted a starting point and when money allows i will get the old girl set up on a dyno and post the graph/results.
has anyone tried the sport demon tyres from pirelli?
they look good and come in 1970's sizes, just wondering about feel and grip.

I haven't tried the sport demons myself, but they get mixed blessings. They seem to work very well on classic Italian bikes, also on Eglis and the like but they didn't get too much praise on the stock 750. YMMV, like so often.
Many CB750 riders recommend Bridgestone BT45, but the tire business is rapidly changing... |
